Statement of Philosophy
Learning is a life long process which may occur in both formal and informal settings. In the formal setting of an education system, the Deer Lake Education Authority believes that partnership with various groups makes education and learning more relevant and effective. It is important that teachers and parents, especially, have close communications and develop within the student a love for learning. Other support groups have an impact and are also important in the overall development of the student. These include the extended family, peer groups, community members, the Education Authority, the school and administration.
Students attending Deer Lake School will be provided with the opportunity to gain an education that will guide them to be positive, contributing members of a society that recognizes the rights and dignity of each individual.
